The Prince is the Groom

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
