Chilean Miners

In 2010 thirty-three men, trapped 700 meters (2,300 ft) underground and 5
kilometers (3 mi) from the mine's entrance were rescued after 69 days. Prayer went up and down. "When we prayed," said one miner, "we didn't pray to get rescued; we prayed for the people outside not to abandon us." Another said God was the 34 miner. More.

I waited patiently for the LORD;

He put a new song in my mouth,

Many will see and fear

to those who turn aside to false gods.

There is a time for everything,

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light;

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,

For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is


the One who has shone in our hearts


to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God

For he has rescued us


from the dominion of darkness


and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, [Colosians 1:13]

"This is the judgment,
that the Light has come into the world,


and men loved the darkness rather than the Light,

and does not come to the Light

Yet to all who received him,
to those who believed in his name,


he gave the right to become children of God—


children born not of natural descent,


nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.


The Word became flesh


and made his dwelling among us.


We have seen his glory,


the glory of the One and Only,


who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. [John 1:12-14]
